Tadáskía (b. 1993, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian artist, writer, and performer who lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. Her practice is grounded in an ongoing exploration of language, identity, and subjectivity, spanning drawing, painting, performance, and video. She moves fluidly between visual and literary forms, developing a body of work that resists fixed categorization.

Her work is characterized by a minimal, gestural visual language that often brings together drawing and writing in compositions centered on intimacy, repetition, and fragmentation. In her practice, text functions not only as content but as material, shaping both the rhythm and structure of the work. Through this approach, she engages with themes of Blackness, gender identity, desire, and interiority.

Tadáskía’s practice also extends into performance and video, where the body becomes a site of inscription and transformation. Across media, her work explores processes of presence, disappearance, and rearticulation, often privileging vulnerability and openness over resolution. This expanded approach situates her practice within broader contemporary discussions around language, embodiment, and the politics of representation.

Her work has been presented internationally, including in the 59th Venice Biennale (2022), and at institutions such as the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP). She has also exhibited in gallery contexts, including Mendes Wood DM. Tadáskía’s work is increasingly recognized within contemporary art discourse for its distinctive integration of text, image, and performance.
