A small girl with wild, unruly hair is clearly absorbed in something mysterious.One might imagine that she is creating something, or perhaps struggling within herself and, of course, with something more intangible. Other young girls gather around her, each absorbed in her own quiet devotion, tethered to private worlds of concentration and intent. Birds appear ,some in flight, others suspended in stillness and as the image slowly unfolds beneath my brush, it calls to mind dovecotes or warriors, echoes of a distant age lingering in the present
