In The Hidden Bird that Loves Her, the figures twist and interlace in what feels like a vigorous dance. At the center, a dominant figure stands en pointe in a simple ballerina style, hair tied back, strong and poised. The space around them feels stormy but undefined more a place of becoming than a real setting. Hidden in the forms, clouds or shapes reveal doves, a nod to my father’s love of birds. They appear, fade, and shift, turning grey like ravens, while the brushstrokes suggest feathers, creating a sense of movement, transformation, and layered meaning.
